Two-way defenceman commits to Spruce Kings for upcoming season

PRINCE GEORGE – The Prince George Spruce Kings have announced the commitment of defenceman Aleksy Bandu (04) for the upcoming BCHL season.

The Montreal, QC native spent the 2021-2022 season with The Governor’s Academy, playing in the US High School Prep League where he tallied 3 goals and 3 assists in 27 games. Before last season, Aleksy played for College Ste-Anne, splitting time between the M17 Minor and M18 Major teams, totalling 11 goals and 5 assists in 30 games.

Aleksy’s brother Isack Bandu played 3 seasons in the BCHL for the Victoria Grizzlies.

“We believe Aleksy has the potential to grow into a steady two-way defenceman in the BCHL,” stated Spruce Kings Head Coach Alex Evin. “His mobility and transition play will certainly be an asset to our team structure.”
