PRINCE GEORGE – The disappearance of Joseph Andrews 20 years ago remains one of the most high-profile child missing person cases in Prince George’s history.

When Joseph vanished, ten-year-old Andrews and his foster parents were at a campsite along the Salmon River.

According to police, this case has few clues or public sightings to help move the case along.

On August 4th, 2002, Joseph Andrews was playing on an inner tube in the Salmon river and was asked several times to come in when he appeared to be drifting too far out. His family briefly lost visual contact with him, and he was gone.

At the time of his disappearance, Andrews was 4’9″ tall, weighing 65 lbs.

Ten years ago, police released an age progression photo of what Andrews may look like when he was twenty years old.

Prince George RCMP, CPL. Jennifer Cooper

“Families of a missing person. Their lives come to a standstill when a family member goes missing until we can say what happened to Joseph. That kind of remains the status quo. It would provide a lot of closure to the RCMP officers that have investigated this over the years and, most importantly, to Joseph’s biological family, who still want answers.”

If you have any details regarding the disappearance of Joseph Andrews, call RCMP or Crimestoppers.
