Shaw joins Spruce Kings as Associate Coach
PRINCE GEORGE – The Prince George Spruce Kings announced the hiring of Andrew Shaw as the team’s new Associate Coach.
The 32-year-old Shaw is a native of Chilliwack and spent the past three seasons as an assistant coach with the Chilliwack Chiefs. Prior to joining the Chiefs, Shaw played junior hockey in Castlegar (KIJHL) and Nipawin (SJHL) and studied political science at the University of Victoria.
Andrew Shaw replaces Lukas Lomicky who left the Spruce Kings earlier in the summer to accept a position with the Vernon Vipers to be closer to family in the Okanagan.
“I’m thrilled to join the Spruce Kings organization. I’m thankful to Mike Hawes, Alex Evin and Craig Carter for the opportunity. This is an excellent organization and I’m privileged to join Alex’s staff. My wife and I are looking forward to an adventure and immersing ourselves in the community,” said Shaw.
