Revamped Capitals coaching staff focused on development

PRINCE GEORGE – It will be a revamped coaching staff behind the bench for the Northern Capitals in 2022-23. Mirsad Mujcin will enter his first year as the head coach of the female U18 team after serving the past few seasons as the coach for the U15 Triple-A Cariboo Cougars.

Making that transition from a team where players were focusing on the WHL Draft to a team of girls looking for collegiate scholarships, it’s something that hits close to home for the coach. He spent time playing at Mount Royal in Alberta during his collegiate career.

Capitals alumna Sage Desjardins returns to the program after spending five years at the University of Calgary and will join Mujcin on staff as one of the team’s assistants.
