Betty Ann Shiels wins 10th Ladies Simon Fraser Open title

PRINCE GEORGE – It’s never been done before.

But this weekend, Betty Ann Shiels stamped her name on the Findlay Young Trophy for the 10th time.

The 55th Ladies Simon Fraser Open was held at the Prince George Golf and Curling Club this past weekend, just one week after the men’s tournament was held at the course.

The tournament drew 46 players from across the province, including Prince George, Williams Lake, Quesnel, Terrace, Victoria and 108 Mile.

Betty Ann Shiels won the tournament with the best overall low gross score. Terrace’s Eowyn Netzel won the low net trophy her first time competing in the Ladies Simon.
