Cougars’ new Director of Business prioritizing fan experience for 2022-23 season

PRINCE GEORGE – Taylor Dakers plans on bringing his success from the hockey operations side of the Prince George Cougars over to the business side after being named the Director of Business for the club. His focus and more immediate goal are straightforward.

“Fan experience number one, for sure,” Dakers said. “I’ve dedicated a long time to junior hockey. Everything is about that connection to the community and those fans loving have the team here, and the players reciprocating.”

Dakers is entering his fifth season with the Cougars after joining the team in 2018. While he’s eagerly stepping into the front office, he will also continue his role as the team’s goaltender coach.

Originally from Langley, Dakers spent his junior career with the Kootenay Ice before being drafted 140th overall by the San Jose Sharks in 2005 and playing two seasons of pro hockey. But the WHL has made up the majority of his hockey career, both on and off the ice.

“I’m very passionate about junior hockey and the positive role organizations like the Cougars can play in the community. The Cougars will continue to be a proud representative of Northern BC, genuinely connecting with people and businesses, while providing the highest level of sports entertainment to our fans,” added Dakers.
