Kodiaks taking on top-ranked Sun

PRINCE GEORGE – The Okanagan Sun have pieced together an undefeated season through four games, ranking them as the top team in the Canadian Junior Football League.

Meanwhile, the Prince George Kodiaks are coming off of their first win in franchise history last weekend, a 28-20 victory over the Valley Huskers.

Defensively, it was the best performance the Kodiaks have pieced together. Entering the game, they were the only team in the BC Football Conference yet to force a turnover. But when the whistle blew to seal their victory, the Kodiaks had forced three turnovers on defence, including a 70-yard interception return for a touchdown. They also blocked a kick on special teams.

Marcellus Pope also had himself a standout performance last week, tallying 15 tackles on the night. As a result, he ranks at the top of the BCFC in that category.

Head Coach Keon Raymond hopes the momentum his team established from the victory last weekend trickles over to this weekend in Kelowna.

Kickoff for the game is at 4:00 p.m.

Fans can listen to the game on 99.3 REWIND Radio. The Pre-game show will get underway at 3:30 p.m. Fans can also stream the game through BCFC TV.
