KENNEWICK — Prince George Cougars goalie Ty Young made 48 saves but the team ultimately fell to the Tri-City Americans 4-3 in overtime.

The back-and-forth affair saw the Americans prevail as Deagan McMillan scored twice for Tri-City in the win.

Tyson Greenway was the hero in Friday’s win for the Americans getting the overtime goal after no winner was decided after 60 minutes of play.

This loss drops the Cougars to a 14-13-1-1 record which currently sits them as the fifth seed in the WHL’s Western Conference Standings with 29 points.

The Cougars are on a losing skid right now and have lost three straight games.

The win for Tri-City improves their record to 13-13-0-0 which sees them sit right behind the Cougars in the sixth seed in the conference.

Despite the loss on Prince George’s side, the Cougars were able to keep the game close battling through a substantial shot differential. PG was outshot by Tri-City 52-32.

The Cougars will continue their USA road trip as they have a rematch with the Americans Saturday before heading to Seattle to take on the Thunderbirds.
