Jake Schneider making a big scoring impact this year with Spruce Kings

PRINCE GEORGE– Every Year the Prince George Spruce Kings typically have 2 imports on their roster. Last Year it was Luc Laylin and Nick Marciano who helped the Spruce Kings to the 2nd round of the playoffs.

This year one of those imports is Jake Schneider who has had a big impact on the season and is currently tied for 3rd on the Kings in scoring.

Jake Schneider started his hockey career in the state of hockey, Minnesota. Playing something that might be unfamiliar to teenagers in Canada. High School Hockey. Suiting up for the Wayzata High School Trojans.

After graduating, Jake took his talents to the USHL playing for the Waterloo Blackhawks for a year before ending up here in Prince George. One of the reasons Schneider chose the Spruce Kings was to improve his all-around game. Looking to try different styles of hockey before heading to Colgate University in New York next year.

Schneider has adjusted well to the BC Hockey League as he has proven himself a great offensive threat for the Spruce Kings ranking 2nd this year in goals scored with 9 tallies. However, the 20-year-old has also taken away being part of the community of Prince George, noting the support this team gets and how tight of a city it is.

Schneider hopes to end his Spruce Kings tenure with a championship while also aiming to hit the 20-goal mark this year. A goal the Spruce Kings forward is well on his way to accomplishing.
