One dead following two-vehicle MVI in Chetwynd

CHETWYND — One person is dead following a two-vehicle collision in Chetwynd.

North District RCMP say they responded to the crash at around 3 p.m. yesterday (Jan.10) on Highway 29 near Nicholson Road.

Police say the collision involved a semi and a passenger car with the driver of the car pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi did not appear to be injured.

“The investigation is ongoing and while causal factors are being determined, it was reported that the roads in the area were slippery,” says Cpl. Madonna Saunderson. “Anyone with information is asked to call the Chetwynd RCMP at (250)788-9221.”
