SWIFT CURRENT, SK.— It was a case of too little, too late for the Cougars in a 4 – 3 loss in Swift Current Saturday night.

The Broncos took a 4 – 1 lead in the third period before the Cougars offence woke up. Chase Wheatcroft scored on the powerplay with 2:37 left in the third and then Hudson Thornton cut the lead to one with 1:44 remaining. But Reid Dyck held off the surging Cougars to preserve the lead.

Dyck made 29 saves in the game. Prince George’s Tyler Brennan stopped 33 of 37 shots from the Broncos.

Ethan Samson, who had a goal and an assist, scored the Cougars first period goal. Riley Heidt and Thornton each had two-point nights.
