Spruce Kings dominate in weekend series against Trail

PRINCE GEORGE – The Prince George Spruce Kings wrapped up their weekend triple-header against the Trail Smoke Eaters winning 4-2 Sunday afternoon at Kopar Memorial Arena. Owen Goodbrand, Linden Makow, Jake Schneider, and Jack Stockfish scored for Prince George .Jordan Fairlie earned his 17th win of the season between the pipes for Prince George, stopping 27 shots of 29 fires by Trail.
With the win, the Spruce Kings won the weekend series 2-1 as they defeated the Smoke Eaters 4-3 in overtime on Saturday. The Smoke Eaters won the first game of the series in PG on Friday, taking down the Spruce Kings 4-2.
Prince George leaps ahead of the Salmon Arm Silverbacks in the standings, ranking them in fourth place in the Interior Division standings with a record of 20-14-2-1. Meanwhile, the Smoke Eaters sit in eighth place with a record of 15-17-2-3.
The Spruce Kings head out on the road later this week,with stops in Cranbrook Friday, Trail Saturday, and Salmon Arm on Sunday.
