PRINCE GEORGE – RCMP dispatchers are a vital link in an emergency. They are the first to collect information and can sometimes play life-saving roles. RCMP is looking to recruit people who can handle these challenges.

Having the ability to stay calm during an emergency is vital. Gathering quality information can help police understand what they will face when they arrive on the scene of an emergency,

An experienced 911 operator can react to many things, from answering calls when help is most needed to coordinating strategies with the responding police officer.

While police dispatching is not for everyone, the RCMP has paid training and mentorship programs to help you reach your goals.

“ We are hiring right now. We need to people to join our police dispatch family. We hold presentations usually around every three weeks or so. We do some in-person here at our North District office in Prince George, and we also do them virtually as well.”

Sharla Duchscherer, RCMP 911 Police Dispatch Recruiter

Dispatchers track and monitor police officers, allowing them to see which officers are available and can best respond to an emergency call.
