PG Fire Rescue responds to two structure fires in one day

PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George Fire Rescue responded to two separate calls of structure fires within hours of each other on Monday.

The first occurred at approximately 9 a.m., when three fire halls responded to the 2400 block of Panorama Place. Crews found a small kitchen fire caused by a break in the stove gas line. The fire was deemed accidental and no one was injured. Damage is estimated at $1,500.

The second fire occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m., crews responded to another structure fire on the 2400 block of Oak Street. Crews found light smoke coming from the upper floor of the structure. A mattress fire was located and extinguished. It was deemed accidental, and $15,000 is estimated in damage.
