5’10 Freshman Guard playing big for TWolves
PRINCE GEORGE– The UNBC men’s Basketball team might’ve found a diamond in the rough at the Point Guard position. Justin Sunga has really blossomed into a great player at the Canada West level. The Freshman guard is top 6 in every major category including points, assists, and steals for 1st-year players in Canada West. Sunga had his senior year of high school basketball wiped due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which limited his options. However, that lead him to commit to the UNBC Timberwolves.
“I didn’t really get my senior year of high school, which was unfortunate, but it landed me here and I’m in a great spot right now, Coach Todd was one of the only coaches that really gave gave me a chance and I’m really grateful for that. Sunga started the year coming off the bench, however, he started showing his potential throughout the year. winning player of the game 3 times in the New Year and consistently making an impact on the game. Forcing Head Coach Todd Jordon to make a change in his starting lineup after the progression Sunga showed.
