PRINCE GEORGE — Loblaw is encouraging customers to bring their own bags in British Columbia.

Effective tomorrow (Feb.16), its’ stores, including Real Canadian Superstore, will begin transitioning away from single-use plastic shopping bags.

In a statement, the company says they are committing to reducing their carbon footprint, and that transitioning away from plastics is part of that.

While customers are encouraged to bring their own bags, there will also be a variety of reusable alternatives available at checkout lanes.
