PRINCE GEORGE — The Timberwolves fell short in a playoff match Friday (Feb.17) as the Regina Cougars advance to the Canada West quarter-finals, winning by a score of 88-74.

The Timberwolves started off solid in the first quarter against the Cougars. However they would trail 24-18 heading into the second. The Cougars would build off their strong first quarter, outscoring the Timberwolves 21-12 with the help of Carter Millar who finished the game with 22 points and nine rebounds.

The third quarter was where the Timberwolves started to come alive, outscoring Regina 19-17 but they would still trail 62-49 heading into the fourth quarter.

The final quarter saw both teams ramp up the intensity of the game. As a result, the Timberwolves 25 point performance in the fourth would not be enough to get past the Cougars as their season comes to an end while the Cougars get set to face the Victoria Vikes in a quarter-final match on Feb.18 at 7 p.m..
