Heavy snow to be followed up with arctic air mass in Prince George

Feb 21, 2023 | 6:02 AM

PRINCE GEORGE — Update: Due to the heavy snowfall, Diversified Transportation has cancelled all morning bus routes for School District 57 and School District 93.

The busses will be back up and running this afternoon.

Earlier: Preliminary numbers out of Environment Canada suggest 25 to 30 centimetres of snow fell in Prince George yesterday into early this morning.

A moist Pacific front is responsible for the snow though arctic air has arrived and will lead to chilly temperatures through Friday with overnight lows dipping to the minus 29 by Thursday night.

A high of minus 14 is expected today with an overnight low of minus 24 though when windchill is factored in, a low of minus 38 is expected overnight.

Once the arctic air mass departs, more snow is expected this weekend.
