PRINCE GEORGE — Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for Prince George.

It’s expected to stay in place through tomorrow afternoon (Feb.24) and is due to an arctic airmass that has established itself over the central Interior.

Lows are expected to reach minus 40 with the windchill in Prince George and minus 45 in the Chilcotin.

Environment Canada says that will be followed up with heavy snow all day Saturday with up to 30 centimetres expected to fall in some areas.
