PRINCE GEORGE — After less than 14 months on the job, Cindy Heitman is out as superintendent of School District 57.

A news release from the district says Pam Spooner has taken over as acting superintendent while a source tells CKPG that Heitman was ousted in a vote by trustees.

No details on her dismissal have been released.

“We would like to thank Cindy for her 28 years with School District 57, and in particular for the past two years in the Superintendent role,” says Board Chair Rachael Weber.

“We are pleased that Pam has agreed to step in as acting Superintendent as we conduct a search for a new Superintendent. We remain focused on building collaborative relationships with rights holder, partners and stakeholders and working to ensure the District is meeting the needs of students.”

In addition to this, Trustee Gillian Burnett has announced she’s resigning her seat. A by-election will be held at a later date to fill that position.
