BC Games Society announces Winter Games will be named Lhtako Quesnel 2024 BC Winter Games

PRINCE GEORGE – The 2024 BC Winter Games are headed to Quesnel. However, some history has been made as it’s the first game that a city and First Nations community have been featured together in the official name of the event.
The event will be officially called the Lhtako Quesnel 2024 BC Winter Games. Driven by local dialogue, the initiative is part of Quesnel’s ongoing commitment to recognizing Lhtako Dene’s traditional territory, ways of life, and continued cultural presence in the region.
The games will feature thousands of athletes from all over BC and represent a unique opportunity to immerse participants from all over the province in the culture and history of the Lhtako Dene people.
