Friday grass fire scorches land behind Recplace Drive

PRINCE GEORGE — A grass fire broke out near Recplace Drive Friday evening.

Shortly before 6:30 pm, a grass fire broke out at the corner of Recplace Drive and Ferry Ave, near Superstore and River Point Landing. Witnesses saw the fire spreading quickly, and fire crews were called to the scene.

Thick smoke could be seen coming from the area, and fire crews managed to douse the flames before it spread any further.

There are no reports on what caused the fire.
