Flair Airlines flight from Prince George to Tucson a success in year one

PRINCE GEORGE- It was December 2nd When the first flair airlines flight from Prince George directly to Tucson took off.

The seasonal route continued every Friday until the end of March and the airport says they are pleased with what they saw in year one.

“We think it went pretty well,” said Gordon Duke, President and CEO of the Prince George Airport Authority. ” We knew our opportunity was going to be to establish Tucson as a destination for the folks in Prince George.”

The airport wasn’t the only organization who were pleased with the flight either. Tourism Prince George says they noticed an uptick in traffic this winter which could lead to more people visiting PG this summer.

“We did get some traffic to our website from that area,” said Colin Carson, the CEO of Tourism Prince George. ” Even if those people didn’t come visit in the winter, you know, hopefully, those are individuals that may be coming up on with their RV’s in the summer.”

Tourism Prince George also says while they will continue to focus on Tucson, they are looking to expand their marketing into other parts of the united states, including Washington state, California and Oregon.
