PRINCE GEORGE — Dozens of first responders showed up today at Inland Kenworth to support the Tour of Honour. The main goal is to raise awareness about the Honour House, where former military and first responders can stay for free while in the Lower Mainland receiving medical treatment.

“We found out that the people we are trying to serve weren’t hearing about it. So we are trying to get that word out. This is for them, it’s their house. The society is really there to give back to the people who are giving to us every single day,” said Larry Campbell, a volunteer for the Honour Society.

The tour, that started in April, is travelling a total of 10,000 kilometers through British Columbia and the Yukon, wrapping up in the Lower Mainland.

Over the next three days, they will be stopping in Vanderhoof, Smithers and Hazelton. Additional stops in northern B.C. include Fort St John, Dawson Creek and Mackenzie.

Fo those former military and first responders who want to be a part of it or anyone who wants to donate, all the information can be found on their website at honourhouse.ca.
