Report of woman with firearm shuts down Massey Drive Wednesday evening

PRINCE GEORGE — Massey Drive was shut down and people in Carrie Jane Grey Park and surrounding public venues were asked to leave Wednesday evening after receiving a report of a woman in the area who appeared to be holding a handgun.

Cpl. Jennifer Cooper with the Prince George RCMP says that officers immediately flooded the area around the 2000-block of Massey Drive and began to search for the woman and a police dog service team was called in to assist frontline police officers with the search.

Police did locate and seize a replica firearm shortly after the report was made.

Investigators are still looking to speak with the suspect, who is described as:

• Approximately 5’6″ in height
• Wearing blue jeans and a black hoody
• Long, dyed blonde hair
