Local golfer back on the course after horrific injury
PRINCE GEORGE — Getting back onto the golf course wasn’t an easy journey for Hayden Prive after he was struck in the side of the head by a golf ball back in July 2022.
The ball broke the young golfer’s orbital bone and forced him into an emergency surgery ultimately ending his season in the process. It happened when Prive was sitting in a golf cart about 40 yards in front of his golfing buddy no expecting a ball to end up anywhere near him.
“I just remember sitting at the steering wheel, I zoned right out, normally I’m paying quite a bit of attention, but for whatever reason, my attention span just went away and next thing I know, I’m just I’m staring down hole 10 and I just feel [my head] falling down and everything going, blacking out,” said Prive. “I didn’t get knocked out, I remember just it ringing really loud”
