BC Summer Games Legacy Grants announced

PRINCE GEORGE- Almost one year after the 2022 BC Summer Games in Prince George the impacts are still being felt.

Friday morning the BC Summer Games team announced two grants that will be available for local athletes and teams.

The local sport organization grant will be open to Prince George Sports organizations affiliated with a provincial sport organization that participated in either the Prince George 2022 BC Summer Games or the Greater Vernon 2022 BC Winter Games.

Seven grants of up to 10,00 dollars will be awarded.

The second grant announced was the athlete and team grant. This grant is available to Prince George Athletes or teams aged 18 and under. Again, the athlete or team must be affiliated with either the Prince George Summer Games or Greater Vernon Winter Games.

Ten Grants of up to 2022 dollars will be awarded.

Eligible applicants can apply via the BC Games Society website at www.bcgames.org. The Application window is now open until September 15, 2023.
