Area restrictions rescinded for Omenica and Donnie Creek fire complexes

PRINCE GEORGE -Reduced fire activity and behaviour has the Prince George Fire Centre rescinding the area restrictions in place for the Omineca and Donnie Creek fire complexes.

The area restriction for the Nation River Wildfire remains in effect.

The BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) says its important the public keep in mind , the Donnie Creek Wildfire and fires within the Omineca Complex are still active wildfires and worksites, and caution while traveling and working in those areas should be exercised at all times.

Road closures and area restrictions are subject to change depending on fire activity. For the most current information please visit the BC Wildfire Service’s Bans and Restriction page.

An evacuation order expansion has been issued due to potential danger to life and health by the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako due to a wildfire.

This expansion broadens the evacuation order area issued on July 12, 2023, at 2130 hours and is for the following area: All properties and lands south of the existing order area to the shores of the Nechako Reservoir, excluding all IRs, as shown on the attached map.
