Evacuation alert rescinded for Nilkitkwa wildfire, 60 km southwest of Smithers

PRINCE GEORGE — The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako has rescinded an evacuation alert that was first issued on July 18.

The alert was first issued due to the Nilkitkwa wildfire, located 60 kilometers southwest of Smithers. It was rescinded on Saturday (July 22) at 11:00 a.m.

The district says 83 properties were affected as a result.
