PRINCE GEORGE — The City of Prince George says a pair of pool closures are coming.

The first closure will be at the Canfor Leisure Pool for annual maintenance between August 7 and September 3.

The City says the closure will allow warranty and outstanding building completion items to be resolved.

The following maintenance and enhancements that will take place include:

  • Interior & exterior painting
  • Windows & doors maintenance, including automatic door openers being fixed in some areas
  • Roofing maintenance
  • Adding pool lane storage hangers
  • Audio/visual equipment updates
  • NinjaCross inspection
  • Waterslide inspection
  • Erecting permanent signage
  • Draining, filling, and deep-cleaning the pools

During the closure swimming lessons will be held at the Prince George Aquatic Centre. The Prince George Aquatic Centre will also be open on the August 7 statutory holiday from 11:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Once the maintenance at the Canfor Leisure Pool is complete, the Prince George Aquatic Centre will then be closed for its annual maintenance for the period between September 4 and October 9. The Canfor Leisure Pool will remain open with extended hours of operation.
