Kodiaks season kicks off with a loss to the Okanagan Sun
PRINCE GEORGE — The season opener for the Prince George Kodiaks kicked off Saturday and in their first opponent of the season, they had a battle on their hands as they faced the defending national champion Okanagan Sun.
The Sun opened the scoring, and by the second quarter it was 6-0. The Sun continued to extend their lead, it was soon 13-0 by halftime. Masich Place Stadium was filled with Kodiaks and Sun fans and they did not disappoint. The Kodiaks had lots of support on opening day, but the rest of the game continued to be an uphill battle even with the hometown support.
The Sun kept putting on the pressure and Kodiaks defense was working overtime to keep the national champions at bay. In the end it was a shutout. 32-0, and a win for the Okanagan Sun.
