PRINCE GEORGE — Update: The police incident has ended, leading to one arrest. Those who were evacuated were allowed to return home.

No further updates will be provided say the RCMP.

Earlier: Witnesses at the scene say the RCMP’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) fired a stun grenade during today’s incident, which happens to be focused at an end unit at Grevman Court, a townhouse complex in the area.

We’ll update this story as soon as more information is released.

Earlier: Local Mounties are currently on the 2000-block of Upland Street, “managing an ongoing and dynamic police incident in the area.”

“At approximately 11:20 a.m. this morning, police officers responded to a complaint of a disturbance at a residence in that neighbourhood. In addition to our police officers, the Emergency Response Team is now on scene and assisting with the incident,” says Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.

“We request that the public stay out of the area in order to give emergency units room to conduct their work safely.”

Out of an abundance of caution, residents in the surrounding units have been evacuated to a safe place. It is unknown how long police will be on scene at this incident. Updates may be provided as they become available.
