Rain and cool weather have helped wildfire threat in our region

PRINCE GEORGE- The BC Wildfire Service has been calling for rain throughout the Prince George Fire Centre for months.

The calls are finally being answered, with more than 15MM of rain falling on the city since July 24.

While this is nowhere near enough to get the current wildfire threat under control, the Wildfire Service says it’s certainly helping.

“We were able to call 92 wildfires out last week,” said Davin Richmond, a fire information officer with the Bc Wildfire Service.
