PRINCE GEORGE – Finding affordable housing is an ongoing issue across the nation. Recently the province, through BC Housing, bought a 36-unit building downtown for $15.6 million.

Ravi Kahlon, Minister of Housing, was in Prince George Tuesday afternoon to officially open a new affordable housing for people with a range of incomes to access affordable housing.

According to Kahlon, his government will continue to work on delivering more housing like this to people in Prince George and throughout the province.

Quebec Street House, near the corner of Quebec and 6th, features 36 units and offers fair market rentals. The units range from studio units to one and two-bedroom homes.

The building has a shared laundry room on each floor and was built as a net-zero, energy-efficient building. The facility includes 144 underground parking spaces.

Residents are expected to occupy their new homes in early September 2023.
