Timberwolves lose on opening weekend against Thunderbirds

PRINCE GEORGE – UNBC Timberwolves Men’s Soccer team was not able to slow the top-ranked UBC Thunderbirds attack yesterday.

The Thunderbirds scored first in the tenth minute, but UNBC pushed back and got a few chances around UBC keeper Bennett McKay, but with no success. The Thunderbirds earned a convincing 5-nil victory over the TWolves.

Ten freshman hit the pitch for the home Timberwolves, as coach Steve Simonson continues to build a nucleus moving forward.

The Timberwolves hit the road next week for a road doubleheader in Langley against the Trinity Western Spartans, while UBC will take on the UBC Okanagan Heat.
