PRINCE GEORGE — The search is on for suspects in a theft investigation.

Prince George RCMP say they were notified Tuesday(Sept.12) morning by Mackenzie RCMP of a truck heading into Prince George, whose occupants were the suspects in a recent theft investigation.

Police say the vehicle was sighted by officers traveling southbound on Highway 97 N just before noon on the same day. The vehicle subsequently fled from police officers onto Sponaugle Road.

The police helicopter, Air 3, and a Police Service Dog team were called in to help look for the four occupants of the vehicle after it was found abandoned near the river off of Marlin Drive.

“The suspects were not located despite a lengthy attempt by multiple units and police believe they crossed the river on foot. Police officers are asking that anyone who may have seen four males across the river from Marlin Road or in the surrounding area, or who noticed anything suspicious, please contact the non-emergency number to speak with an investigator”, states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

The investigation is ongoing.
