PRINCE GEORGE—This is your last chance to get on last ride on Little Prince before the end of the season. Weather permitting, the Exploration Place will be hosting free train rides from 12-5 p.m. around Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park
Little Prince is the last wood-fired 24-inch gauge locomotive in North America. As stated by Tracy Calogheros, CEO for Exploration Place, the train was created in 1912 and was there at the last spike on the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway making it an important piece of canadian history.
The Little Prince runs on a 2.2 kilometre long track and has been there since Canada Day in 1978. In 2011 the exploration place took over operation.
