MERRITT — Update: A 67-year-old Prince George man reported as missing last month has been located and is safe.

John Young was on his way from Prince George to Logan Lake when he was last seen on September 21. RCMP say on September 30 hunters who were in the Merritt area found Young, whose vehicle had been stuck.

Young was taken to hospital with minor injuries due to being stuck out in the elements but is otherwise okay.

“The RCMP would like to thank the public and media for their assistance,” reads an RCMP news release.

Earlier: LOGAN LAKE. — RCMP are releasing new information about a missing Prince George man who was last seen in Logan Lake.

John David Young, 67, was on his way from Prince George to Duncan on Vancouver Island. He visited a friend in Logan Lake and was last seen there last Thursday (Sept. 21).

Logan Lake RCMP now believe Young may have made his way to Spences Bridge, then turned north on the Trans Canada Highway instead of south toward the Lower Mainland. Investigators believe the man reached Clinton and is still in that area.

Air and ground searches have been conducted but have located neither Young nor his truck. Family members are concerned for Young’s well-being, as this activity is out of character for him.
