Update: One dead after vehicle goes down embankment on Northwood Pulpmill Road

PRINCE GEORGE — Update: RCMP have confirmed that one person was killed in Friday morning’s crash on Northwood Pulpmill Road.

Police say it was the driver, and sole occupant of the vehicle. The BC Coroners Service has taken over the investigation. There will be no further updates.

Earlier: A serious crash Friday morning in Prince George.

RCMP say at approximately 5:30 a.m., they were advised that a vehicle had gone down an embankment on the 4300-block of Northwood Pulpmill Road.

“Police officers are still at the location with other emergency services. Northwood Pulpmill Road has been closed to traffic and will remain closed for the majority of the morning as emergency crews continue their work. A detour through Shelley is available,” states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
