Timberwolves fall against Alberta Pandas
EDMONTON, AB – The UNBC Timberwolves men’s and women’s basketball teams visited the Alberta Pandas last night (Nov. 24), but couldn’t bring home a victory.
The women dropped an 81-39 to one of the top teams in Canada. Claire Signatovich led the charge for Alberta with 14 points, while Sveta Boykova responded with a game-high 16 points for UNBC to go along with 14 rebounds, four steals and three blocks – earning her the Earls Road Warrior of the Game honours for the Timberwolves.
On the men’s side, UNBC fell 89-74. Alberta guard Brandon Meiklejohn led all scorers with 41 points, while Evgeny Baukin responded with a career-best 23 points for UNBC – earning him the Earls Player of the Game honours for the Timberwolves.
The teams will be facing each other again later today (Nov. 25), in Edmonton.
