RCMP host “Cram-A-Cruiser” event this Saturday

Nov 30, 2023 | 3:18 PM

PRINCE GEORGE— Local Mounties are hosting their “Cram-A-Cruiser” fundraiser this Saturday, December 2, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. All proceeds will go to the Prince George Salvation Army.

We will fill our police cruisers with donations as many times as we can during the four hours we are out. All donations will be provided to the Prince George Salvation Army just in time for Christmas. The Salvation Army has been generous in assisting our Victim Services program over the years and this is our way of returning that generosity.

Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

RCMP and community volunteers will be outside three Save-on-foods locations throughout Prince George to see how many times they can cram a police cruiser full of donations of non-perishable food, toiletries and un-wrapped gifts just in time for the holiday season. Shoppers are encouraged to grab an extra item or two on their way through the shopping centre to donate on their way back out.

Cash and gift cards are also suggested. Some examples of items the teams are looking for include:

  • Peanut butter
  • Canned beans in sauce
  • Rolled or instant oats
  • Canned vegetables
  • Pasta and sauce
  • Macaroni and cheese
  • Rice
  • Coffee or tea
  • Canned fish or meat
  • size 5 or 6 diapers and Pull Ups
  • Canned soup
  • Feminine hygiene products

If you are interested in volunteering to help out with this event, please contact the Prince George RCMP Community Policing office at 250-561-3366 for more information.

The three Save-On-Foods locations will be the one at pine centre, spruceland, and college heights.

Pattison media is owned by Jim Pattison industries, a majority shareholder in Save-on-Foods.
