Noah is top baby name for 2023

PRINCE GEORGE— Every year hospitals across the country wait to patiently wait for the birth of the 2024 New Year’s baby. If you want to watch for the first baby in the north you can stay up to date on the Northern Health’s website.

While we don’t know when the first baby will be born we do have a good idea on the name; Noah. According to the Vital Statistics Agency the most popular baby name for British Columbians has been Noah for two years in a row.

Prliminary numbers indicate 205 babies were named Noach in 2023. This name is followed by Oliver(196), Olivia(196), Theodore(188), Liam(179), Jack(152), Emma(142), Sophia(136), Ethan(129) and Leo(129) in 2023.

In 2022 the top names for babies born in B.C. were Noah, Olivia, Oliver, Liam, Theodore, Jack, Emma, Lucas, Leo and Sophia.
