PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George RCMP says it was a relatively calm New Year’s Eve when it comes to calls for service.

“This year saw a slight drop in service requests, with a total of 92 calls to police on the last day of 2023,” says Cpl. Jennifer Cooper. “The peak hours for calls to police occurred late in the evening on December 31, 2023 and in the early morning hours of January 1, 2024.”

She says that overall, the calls were in-line with regular types of service calls. For example, officers were kept busy attending to numerous disturbances and incidents caused by intoxicated individuals.

Overall in 2023, Prince George RCMP attended just over 45,000 calls for service, which is down from 2022’s year-end total of just over 46,000.”
