Cougars fall short in Portland

PORTLAND, OR – The Prince George Cougars dropped a 4-3 decision to the Portland Winterhawks in a nail-biting battle last night (Jan. 6), in Portland.
The game was decided in the closing minute. The Winterhawks secured the victory with a late go-ahead goal from Josh Davies, earning his second of the game at 19:00.
Zac Funk, Carlin Dezainde and Borya Valis scored one goal each for the Cats. Josh Ravensbergen faced 28 shots in loss, while Nick Avakyan saved 36 shot for the Winterhawks.
The Cougars now conclude their five-game road swing in Everett on today (Jan. 7) at 4:05 pm, aiming for a strong rebound after the intense battle in Portland.
