Snow guns going great guns at Otway

The snow-making guns at the Otway Nordic Ski club as belting out snow these days in anticipation of the the Paranordic Finals and the Para Biathlon Chamapionships in March.
December was too warm to make show, but these conditions are ideal.

“But but certainly, we need cold weather to be able to make snow,” explains Kevin Pettersen, Director of Competition. “So we did have a snowfall mid-December, which gave people a bit of a early start. But then it got warm. And with with temperatures above zero, we can’t even start the snow makers. So, yeah, so it was a bit of a anxious December. But we knew we had lots of winter left, so that was kind of thought that we shouldn’t panic yet.”

The goal is to make a solid base for the events.
