Feds want to go green

PRINCE GEORGE – The federal budget sets out a number of ways Canadians can be greener. That was the message from federal MP Carolyn Bennett, who made a stop at UNBC today.
The budget sets out rebates for people who buy electric vehicles as well as rebates for businesses that get into green fleets.
Bennett says a quarter of the greenhouse gases emitted in Canada come from vehicles and transportation in general.
But the challenge with Prince George is that there are four charging stations in Prince George and the closest out of the city is in Quesnel. To the west, the next charging station is in Burns Lake and to the north, there are no charging stations until you reach the Peace Country.
