The Para Biathlon World Championship kicks off next Tuesday
PRINCE GEORGE— The wait is almost over with countries already arriving for the 2024 Para Biathlon World Championships. To kick off the competitions, an opening ceremony will be held at the Prince George Conference and Civic Centre on Tuesday, March 5 at 6:30 p.m.
The free to attend opening Ceremonies will welcome 80 athletes from 13 countries in a celebration of sportsmanship. The festivities will conclude with a fireworks display.
“The excitement is truly mounting as we prepare to kick off the 2024 Para Biathlon World Championships in Prince George,” says Kevin Petterson, Chair of the Local Organizing Committee, enthusiastically. “Welcoming 80 athletes from 13 countries to our opening ceremonies, and indeed all 185 athletes participating over the following 12 days, represents a significant moment for our community and the sporting world. This event is a testament to the strength, resilience, and dedication of all involved.”
The Para Biathlon World Championships will commence the next day at 10 a.m. at the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club. Afterwards on March 12 the Para Nordic World Cup Finals will take place. The 12 days of competitions will showcase the talents from 185 athletes from 20 countries.
