Ukraine takes top spot on the leaderboard at the Para Biathlon World Championships
PRINCE GEORGE— Ukraine had a heavy presence at the Para Biathlon World Championships capturing a total of 20 medals. Standing Skier Liudmyla Liashenko led the charge with three gold and one silver medal. As the top point earner Liashenko earned the IPC Crystal Globe.
Liashenko was pleased by the warm welcome remarking that Prince George was ready for her team as soon as they got to the airport.
“It was super unexpected when we made it to the airport YXS,” remarks Liashenko. “It was super warm and super hospitable.”
In total Ukraine earned eight gold, seven silver, and five bronze. Currently they lead in medals at the Para Nordic World Cup Finals with eight medals; three gold, three silver, and three bronze.
