Prince George Cougars Terik Parascak and Mark Lamb nominated for major WHL awards
PRINCE GEORGE— It has been a big year for the Prince George Cougars as Cougar forward Terik Parascak has been nominated the Jim Piggott Memorial Trophy after being named the WHL Rookie of the Year for the B.C. division. On top of that, Mark Lamb has been nominated for the LLoyd Saunders Memorial Trophy which is awarded annually to the WHL Executive of the Year.
The 17-year-old product of Lethbridge Alberta has had an incredible season recording 105 points, 43 goals – 62 assists. Parascak placed eighth in scoring among WHL player while leading all the rookies in the league. Additionally Parascak was the only rookie to reach 100 plus points in 25 years; Calgary Hitmen Pavel Brandel registered 134 point in the 1998-99 season.
The 5’11”, 179 pound right winger earned the WHL Rookie of the Week on five separate occasions, three Rookie of the Month titles, and one Player of the Week. Parascak ranks fourteenth among North American skaters by the NHL Central Scouting draft.
Mark Lamb is the B.C. Division WHL Executive of the Year for the 2023-24 season.
