Silvertip Archers find a new home following demolition of old facility
PRINCE GEORGE – The Austin Road Elementary School is getting demolished, which was bad news for the Silvertip Archers, as that was where its indoor facility was located. However, after a months long search, the club is happy to say it has found a new indoor facility! Located above the Co-op gas bar on Central, the club says finding a new indoor space is huge.
“If we hadn’t found the new location, we would have really struggled as a club, not being able to shoot. We have a lot of athletes that are going… we had one go to the Panam Youth games. So it’s very important for our local club and our local members,” said Silvertip Archers Vice President Michael Wiebe.
While the Silvertip Archers already have an outdoor facility, the indoor one is a necessity so the archers can practice year round. Beyond the obvious need for a climate controlled space, an indoor facility also provides the optimal training grounds, so even in the summer the indoor facility is needed.
